I am a visual artist,
born and raised in Lebanon. I spent 3 years (2014-2017) training at a
traditional academy of art - BAA, Barcelona – a school dedicated to revive the
skill-set of understanding light, form & figurative representation through
painting from nature and live models.
In 2017 I moved back to
Beirut- Lebanon where I created artworks that were exhibited in group shows.
Art pieces that revolved around themes of human vulnerability, love and solitude.
As the uprising of
political resistance in Lebanon began in mid 2019, I started taking on public
art as a form of resistance towards the government. I had my first mural commission with Art Of Change
of 25meters(height) in Beirut on women empowerment. A project in collaboration with an
NGO that works on hiring women in political spheres in a country that for long has been suffering from the unjust gender inequality.
I found great passion in
painting murals about subjects that tackle current issues as they have a potential to
echo in today´s world. Subjects like environmental injustice,
corruption, and mental health - which i believe exist in most societies - are
re-current themes.
Today, as I am distancing
myself from the pain around me, a satirical view of the world dominates my
perception. In my recent creative practice, the individual´s relation to his/her
surroundings and to other individuals is a major inspiration. Raising questions
of identity through symbolism, nature, life and human behavior.
