Emily Bonney, currently living and practicing in Massachusetts, is a still life painter who brings attention to every day objects. The still life painting has always been used to freeze objects in time, like a photograph. It has been used to keep object the way they are and the way they’ve been seen. Bonney’s still life paintings focus on the more obscure and abstract, from empty cups to bones. Focusing on the more aged and used objects, she believes they also need a place in art.
