My name is Mary Bobson (Mariia Boborenko). I was
born and live in a small town in the south of Russia. When I was young, I
attended art school and college of fashion design.
Since childhood, I dreamed of being an artist,
but in difficult times in Russia in the 90s, I completely changed the direction
of my education and became an economist, and then a doctor of economic
sciences. Most of my life I have worked with numbers, finance. I planned all
the cash flows of a small branch of Gazprom in my city, but always and in
everything I used a creative approach.
My first son was born when I was 23 years old and
he helped me write a thesis in economics. I believed that this is my only
child. 19 years later I gave birth to a second son - and he helps me to paint
my paintings.
In the 90s, I changed my life in one direction,
and now I have returned to my dream, because I still have a whole life ahead of
me and I want to devote it to art.
Late in the evening or at night, when the house
is quiet and everything is done, I go to bed to sleep. When I close my eyes, a
magical show begins under my eyelids. I always see different pictures, but
always stunningly beautiful: now rare patterns and ornaments, now geometric
shapes that change shapes and sizes, now intertwining ribbons and waves, then
flashes and explosions, and sometimes something like the bodies of people
intertwined in the arms. These pictures are always saturated with a huge number
of colors and shades, light and shadows, tints and reflections, nuances and
contrasts. They flow before my inner gaze like an endless beautiful river,
replacing each other. I would like to stop individual fragments, examine them
longer and closer, but this current is elusive and unique. For me, these
moments are one of the highest pleasures in life. No words can describe what I
see. I value these minutes and hours, and they become a source of inspiration
for my work. And finally, at 45 years old, I decided to translate them into
reality
I want to share my rich inner vision with people,
I want the magical pictures I saw to take on reality and their home.
