Mauro Bobbo was born in 1977 and grew up between Venice and Padua. He attended the arts high school in Venice. He enrolled at the Italian School of Design in Padua (SID), becoming a designer, learning to put the analytical phase of his creativity into practice. Today he lives in Mira (Venice) and works as a Project Manager at Punto Ciemme Arreda, a company specialized in showrooms and exhibition stands internationally renowned.
His artistic path extends widely, using both painting techniques and plastic arts. The artist prefers a strong materiality and a physical relationship with the supports with which he interacts. He uses oil paints, acrylics, silicone resins and polyester, gypsum castings and diplast, modelling with loam and clay. Since 2003 he has been collaborating with the group of artists and friends THE L ETEREAL, with whom he organized several exhibitions between Venice and Padua
-PROJECT for ART LAGUNA PRIZE:Unità Polimateriche [Units from multiple materials] is an artistic project which began almost 20 years ago, when I started mixing the materials together, merging them without distorting their essence. My intention is to reshape objects of daily use into new ones with a different function, and an added value. The aim is to come closer to the anatomical forms of the human body employing biological elements, such as wood.Often, these biological elements are recovered from abandoned places, sometimes washed ashore. Elements which were once alive, which started decomposing and deforming with time – still, they possess an inner meaning. Hence, the artistic production consists in making these inner meaning emerge from the very materials they already inhabit.The desire to realise anatomical human forms starting from wood emerges from the connection between human being and nature, between being and matter. Human beings and nature share a lymph which generates, creates, dies and finally returns to nature. Unità polimateriche is a multidimensional reconstruction of the natural processes of life and death. We coexist and we need to share in order to coexist. This is the chemistry communicated by these coloured hybrid shapes: “every tree, every trunk, every human being has a story, a story to tell, a story to make people dream”.

Mauro Bobbo nasce nel 1977 e cresce nel contesto della Riviera del Brenta, tra Venezia e Padova. Si iscrive al Liceo Artistico di Venezia. Diplomatosi, si iscrive alla Scuola Italiana di Design di Padova (SID), diventando un designer e dove impara a mettere in opera la fase analitica della propria creatività. Oggi vive a Mira e lavora come Project Manager presso Punto Ciemme Arreda, azienda specializzata in showroom e stand fieristici che lavora a livello internazionale.
Il suo percorso artistico spazia ampiamente, partendo dalla pittura ed approdando all’utilizzo di arti plastiche. L’artista predilige una forte matericità ed un rapporto fisico con i supporti con cui interagisce. Usa colori ad olio, acrilici, resine siliconiche e poliestere, colate in gesso e diplast, modella con creta ed argilla. Dal 2003 collabora con il gruppo di artisti ed amici THE L ETEREAL, con il quale ha organizzato svariate mostre tra Venezia e Padova.

PROJECT per Art Laguna Price:Unità Polimateriche è un percorso di studio nato negli anni ‘90, approcciando diversi tipi di materiali amalgamandoli assieme, unendoli senza stravolgerne l’essenza. L’intenzione è di rimodellare e riqualificare elementi comuni, di utilizzo quotidiano, aumentandone il valore. Lo scopo è di avvicinarsi alle forme anatomiche del corpo umano utilizzando elementi biologici come il legno.Materiali spesso recuperati da situazioni di abbandono, a volte trasportati dall’acqua del mare. Elementi un tempo vivi, che con il passare degli anni, hanno cominciato a degradarsi ed a deformarsi, ma che posseggono ancora un significato interiore. Perciò, il lavoro di produzione artistica, non è altro che un modo di far emergere quei significati, già presenti nei materiali stessi.La realizzazione di forme anatomiche attraverso il materiale ligneo scaturisce dal parallelismo tra uomo e natura, tra essere e materia. L’uomo e la natura condividono quella linfa vitale che genera, crea, muore e ritorna alla natura. Le unità polimateriche non sono nient’altro che una fotografia tridimensionale dei processi naturali di vita e di morte. Dobbiamo convivere e condividere per vivere. Questa è l’alchimia trasmessa da queste forme ibride colorate: “ogni albero, ogni tronco, ogni persona ha una storia, una storia da raccontare, una storia per far sognare”
