Biography and curriculum (in short)
I was born in Parma on february 19, 1953. I’m married and I’ve two adult sons. I live in Gussago, Franciacorta (Brescia) Italy
I studied until I've got first classical maturity and then degree in medicine and surgery. I specialized in childhood and adolescent neuropsichiatry. I worked as a child neuropsichiatric M.D. and from 1990 I became chief of a public Service of Child Neuropsichiatry in the Hospital of Desenzano (Brescia), until I retired in 2016.
I always loved drawing from an early age and, as a teenager, I mainly made portraits in pencil, even sometimes at the request of others. I continued, as a selftaught, to coltivate this passion even in adulthood. As soon as I retired I enrolled (2017) in a creative drawing course (in San Clemente’s school, Brescia) and, at the end of this course, I presented my firs drawing to an exhibition inside to the same school. The title of my drawing was “Out of the sheet”, with image of an hand to fist that “breaking the sheet, comes out of it”. This picture express my desire to get out of preordinate scheme, but I still didn’t know where exactly to go. So I decided to enroll at the Santa Giulia Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia, attending several drawing and painting courses over three academic years (2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20); in the last year I had to interrupt unfortunately the painting’s lessons (march 2020) due Covid-19 pandemic. During the period of attendance at the Academy, I partecipate in various group projects, such as the “Holybrixia project” (2019), whose works where exhibited in the old cathedral of Brescia. The training in Academy was very important for me and led me to range from drawing to painting and also to make projects for installations. This experience allowed me to expand my possibilities of artistic expression and to compare myself with others as well. So, in 2019 I presented a painting entitled “new ideas in old containers”, made in mixed media and of size 90x90 cm, which was exhibited at the Sarezzo Art Prize 2019 (in Sarezzo-Brescia). In 2020, encouraged by this first experience, I presented (always in Sarezzo Art Prize) the installation entitled “Metanoia” and my first satisfation arrived with a “signal” from the Jury (even more so as an outsider in all respects!). In 2021, at the same Art Prize, also the installation "Enantiodromia" obtained a "signal" from the giury and so in april 2023 I 've done my first personal exposition in Palazzo Avogadro, in Sarezzo, Brescia, titled "Il filo che ci unisce (come esseri umani)". Then I was also in a collective exposition titled "Fuori Misura", in Tolentino (Macerata), from 23 september to 8 october 2023, in a personal exposition titled "The expulsion of the Other", in Gussago, Brescia, from 25 novembre to 3 dicembre, in a collettive exposition titled "Art and Medicine", always in dicember. In 2024 (till now) I was in the collettive exposition of MIIT Museum of Torino titled "Miit Factory", in april and in the collettive exposition titled Connection 2.0 in Milan, in may. And I've also other projects for the second part of the year.
At the end of exposition "Miit Factory", in Torino, in wich I presented three installations: "Trasparency in digital panopticon", "Open Hypercube: beyond the idea of time and space" and "Enantiodromia", I've won the publication of an article dedicated to my artistic works in the magazine "Arte Italia" directed by Guido Folco.
I'm also in the Artists' Association of Brescia and every year I take part to the collettive exposition "Ricognizione"
I continued to express myself following more and more existential themes that were close to my heart and involved me emotionally actually in my life. This became the basis of a research that continues time by time and that induce me to propose again installations and painting in Arte Laguna prize 24-25.
Statement
My artistic work, although late, for reasons related to my work choices (I worked as medical doctor for several years), aims to express and trasmit what strikes me and involves most emotionally and existentially at this moment of my life. My personal research is to find espressive forms that traslate in an immediate and simple way even the complexity of what concerne human existence and the environment in which we are immerse and with which we interact; I like to work "translating in an artistic language" univeralistic themes.
