Italian professional photographer based in Nîmes (France), specialized in fine
art photography.
I started photography with silver cameras at 5yo, turned it as a profession just in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic.
As fine art photographer, I exhibit my
limited-edition fine art photos, especially about
flamenco. In 2022 I self-published a
fine art book, LUZ FLAMENCA, with a selection of them. Since 2023 my flamenco art photographs have been
awarded in international photo
competitions in
New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and Beverly Hills.
Dance photography is deeply rooted in me: I practiced classical and
contemporary dance for almost 20 years, until several injuries forced me to
stop.
Dance allowed me to express my emotions and creativity through movement,
and today I love dancing through my eyes, capturing these emotions expressed on
stage by great artists.
I only take live pictures, without any pose, because every moment deserves to be unique, not replicable, and remembered as a spontaneous and experienced emotion.
My photographic approach takes the literal meaning of the word "photography" - writing with light - and develops into "painting with light".
I like to capture movement and bring a photograph to life, conveying more than a static pose of a dancer on stage, and giving whoever looks at the photo the feeling of having witnessed the performance: hearing the music, seeing the steps, feeling the emotion.
I love movement, as an expression of change, of life's unpredictability, of evolution, of the need to adapt, of the need for balance.
I love light as a source of energy, hope, strength, passion, faith and inspiration, but I also love shadow as a source of contrast, intensity, comparison and depth.
Title of my photo series:Dancing vulnerability at flamenco tempoDescription on photographs:This series is part of a larger project of limited edition fine art photographs taken during live flamenco performances in France and Spain that began in 2020 at the height of the pandemic and is still ongoing.
The aim is to represent the
universal language of emotions through two-step flamenco dance between light and emotion.Flamenco, inscribed on the World Heritage List, was born in a folk environment and expresses itself through improvisation, the spontaneous expression of emotions with intensity, without fear of showing vulnerability.
An artistic approach that, through dance and photography, aims to make people recognize their own emotions, accept their vulnerability, give it space and experience it without barriers.Vulnerability as a strength rather than a weakness, a necessary tool for staying connected to yourself and living a fulfilled life.In a world that encourages us to wear masks to conform, the goal is to reconnect with ourselves, face our emotions, embrace our vulnerability and make it our strength.
