New Orleans-based artist Aron Belka is best known for his large format paintings that pull between abstraction and representation. Belka earned his BFA in illustration from Utah State University in 1998. He has exhibited in numerous venues including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, SCOPE New York and a solo exhibition at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art in Georgia. He recently won the Juror’s Choice Award at the 2017 Huntsville Museum of Art’s Red Clay Survey and was an artist in residence at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans in 2016. Belka’s paintings hang in numerous private and public collections, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation and the Alexandria Museum of Art. He is represented by LeMieux Galleries in New Orleans and Quidley and Company Fine Art in Naples, Florida.
