My name is Karim Bassegoda, also known as Keight. I was born in 1988 in Lausanne. I live and work in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, where my studio is located, near the city of Lausanne. In 2013, I successfully obtained a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication, specializing in Graphic Design from ÉCAL (École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne).
Throughout my career, my artistic work has been exhibited in various cities around the world, gaining international visibility. In 2012, I was selected to exhibit at the Szeklerland Graphic Arts Biennale in Romania. Following my studies at ÉCAL, I participated in a project as part of an artist residency in Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, for Hors-Piste, where I collaborated with industrial designers, graphic designers, photographers, artists, and craftsmen. The project was a success and was exhibited in Ouagadougou and then in Europe, including Paris, Brussels, Milan, and Lausanne.
As a finalist and exhibitor in various national and international competitions such as Rome, London, Paris, Gimpo-Si (near Seoul), Geneva, Martigny, and Lausanne, I have become increasingly interested in intercontinental artistic exchanges. I am the recipient of the Alfred Latour Prize 2023-2024.
