Baschka is an emerging artist who was born in Rostock in1970. She discovered her passion for art at an early age and began developing her skills in painting and sculpture. Her paintings are mostly portraits or still lifes that tell stories of dreams, hope, or loss.
In the three-dimensional realm, Baschka experiments with various materials such as clay, plaster, wire, and papier-mâché. She has been creating figures and busts out of papier-mâché for a long time, representing human emotions and thoughts. At the same time, she finds inspiration in old rusty objects like machine parts, giving them a different meaning and playing with their form or original purpose.
After discovering marble sculpting, Baschka started combining rusty metal and white marble as an aesthetic contrast. Engraved inscriptions became an element of her sculptures, along with accompanying texts.
Inspired by the human psyche and the social dynamics of our time, Baschka creates artworks that encourage viewers to reflect on themselves and societal conditions. Her latest works are philosophical, reflecting human behavior and ways of thinking by the means of a single image or word and by this questioning our perception of life. “Human existence is so complicated (in the meaning of the infinite multitude of interlacing parts) and yet so simple, seen from afar”, she says, “I like to reduce this complexity in order to find simplicity.” Her works have already participated in several group exhibitions and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. They are also represented in some private collections.
On her Instagram account @baschka_art, Baschka shares not only her finished works but also insights into her artistic process and inspiring thoughts. With a growing fan base of art lovers and followers, she has established herself as a talented artist.
Baschka currently lives and works in Leipzig, a city that inspires her through its creative atmosphere and diverse art scene. She is always looking for new opportunities to advance her artistic development and is already planning future projects. Baschka hereby applies to participate in your upcoming exhibition. She firmly believes that her unique works can make a valuable contribution to this event. Her artworks provoke thought and create an emotional connection with the viewer.
