Tomasz Bartelik is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology. His diploma project was recognized as one of the best in 2002, and in 2001 he was awarded the Gdańsk University of Technology Medal for outstanding achievement. As an artist, he expresses himself not only through painting but also in interior design, graphic art, and industrial design.
With over two decades of experience as an art director in both corporate and boutique settings across Poland and Canada, Bartelik made a pivotal decision to leave the world of advertising and digital media to fully dedicate himself to art. In 2025, he was selected as one of only seven Polish artists to exhibit at the London Art Biennale.
Rooted in his architectural background, his works focus on minimalist interpretations of urban landscapes—geometric, simplified forms of buildings and cities viewed from a skyward perspective. He calls this approach "minimalist architectural geometry," a unique visual language that reflects his deep understanding of spatial relationships and aesthetic clarity.
Bartelik’s paintings strive to capture the structural essence of form and its harmony with the sky, offering viewers a sense of both simplicity and complexity in the evolving urban environment. While his subject matter continues to expand beyond architecture, his style remains consistent—anchored in minimalist geometry, lending coherence and precision to each work.
His art has been recognized not only in Poland, but also in Spain, Germany, and Canada, demonstrating the universal appeal and depth of his artistic vision. Each piece he creates is a contemplative space where architectural vision meets geometric purity, inviting reflection on form, space, and the world we shape.
“As digital technologies reshape the visual arts, painting has come to play a central role in my life.”
