Maurizio Barberis has been active in the world of art and art design since the 1980s, producing solo shows and installations(including exhibitions at Dilmos Milano and Morat Institut in Friburg-D), and collaborations (including Galleria Nilufar in Milan).Milanese by birth but not by cultural training, he graduated in architecture at the iuav in venice and from the beginning he directed his profession between art, photography and design,focusing on the relativity of the perception of space-time. Recently he has directed his research to explore the poetic tangents between the sensible world, the world of primary perception and dreams and the world of symbolic statements.He has also taken part as an author in two editions of the Milan Triennale, the art and design musuem in Milan, and for a long period he worked with Philippe Daveriofor the creation in Milan of a Superior School of the Applied Arts (Department of Culture of the City of Milan).He has worked with the Murano Glass Museum and the Fortuny Museum in Venice, organizing many conferences and workshops,and designing the installation of the exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the death of Mariano Fortuny.He has shown work in New York, in the 1980s, and recently (8 March – 19 May 2017) at the Italian Consulate.Barberis has published photography books and an essay on Color Theory.
