Read MoreBarbara Christol is a French visual artist trained at the Beaux-Arts of Nîmes and later at the University of the Sorbonne, where she completed a doctoral thesis on the “transitional labyrinth.” Her trajectory developed between Paris and Santiago de Chile before becoming anchored in Nîmes, where she now lives and works.
Her practice unfolds across drawing, painting, weaving, installations and photography, with particular attention to gesture, thread, and the relationships between material, space and perception. She regularly takes part in artist residencies and exhibitions in France and internationally, including at the National Art Center in Tokyo, the Sculpture Symposium in Chile, art fairs in Luxembourg and at the Saatchi Gallery in London, as well as projects in Paris, New York and Los Angeles.
She also collaborates with artists from dance and music, integrating movement and performative dimensions into her work.
