This is Fatemeh, born in Sirjan, Iran. I am a leading Artist from a generation that emerged with the influence of not only the Persian Art Heritage and Culture, but also following the leading artists such as Picasso, Van Gogh and Mohsmmad Siah-Ghalam. My early paintings were most related to the Persian heritage and continued in late 2010 with other art forms.
Some of my work is a mixed from painting/sketching collections of Picasso called Minitor (Mythical creature with the head of cattle and the human body, and its ghouls with Persian miniatures including Mohammad Siah Ghalam’s ghouls from Safavid Period, which were not indifferent with Picasso’s ghouls and also other paintings from various schools of Persian miniature).
In these paintings, for the first time, oriental arts are placed along with valuable works of Picasso to achieve new form and concept. This collection named “Dialogue”, and the arts of east and west can easily be seen together in these artworks with a new perspective. Each painting is the collection of several artworks which required a lot of study and observation of the works and paintings of both styles to implement each of them for achieving new and correct conceptual combination.
Some of my paintings are in gouache and watercolor on cardboard replica. Ghalamgiri and Pardaz techniques similar to Persian miniature techniques were used in these paintings.
Both styles have been considered in compositions, but more Picasso compositions were used. The colors of the paintings are selective. Of course by implementing these paintings great similarities can be realized between the paintings in the form and/or in the concepts of Picasso and Persian paintings.
