Giacomo Baccega (Treviso, 1994) is an Italian visual designer and new media artist who explores the tangible aspects of technology. In his practice, he delves into the hardware, the physical components of media. He utilizes light, sensors, microcontrollers, raw electronics, and algorithms to create moments of interaction with both organic and inorganic materials. From these interactions, it becomes evident that the historical division between what constitutes culture and what doesn't is an outdated distinction used to uphold power structures based on discrimination. A new subjectivity emerges, rooted in interconnections, cooperation, and mutual recognition, encompassing both human and technological aspects.
