If Augustin W. always liked to draw, it was only in his thirties that this autodidact sketched his first paintings, during his expatriation to the USA. Returning to France and caught up in the whirlwind of family/professional life, he only resumed brushing during confinement. As everyone rushes to the stove, he takes advantage of this break time to get back to painting, first using the rest of old pots of wall paint on sheets! Installed in his garden, he spends hours, brush in hand, trying out all types of artistic expression – portrait, landscape, figurative representation, still life, abstract expressionism… – with always, in common thread, the color that remains. at the heart of his creativity. A creativity whose contours he works by sometimes drawing inspiration from the techniques of masters such as Pollock, Monet, Rothko, whether in drawing, movement or matter. All of these personal or inspired explorations now represent around fifty works.
