Danesh ASHOURI (1987, Guilan) is an
interdisciplinary artist and researcher based in Freiburg, Germany and Basel,
Switzerland. His work explores the boundaries between art, technology and
society, with a focus on simple aesthetic and provocative content. His approach
to art relies on being informed and stay responsible for the world we create.
Motivated by this concern and to be exposed to rhythms of technology, ASHOURI
got enrolled in an engineering program and later in 2020, he completed a PhD in
Neurotechnology at the University of Freiburg, Germany. He currently explores
and leads research projects developing technologies that interface human brain
(Brain-computer-interface) while conceptualizing transdisciplinary art
initiatives to reach out to public.
The ArtTech
series (starting in 2017) is a conceptual framework within which he tackles the
obscure idea of future and how technology will diffuse into the texture of our
lives. In particular, how technology will impact the identity and perception of
self and mental health. Also, how artistic medium might raise above the
illusions, hypes and hopes of the days yet to come.
