Read MoreAsnax (Nazlı Asafrana) is an Istanbul based sculptor and visual artist working with crushed glass, ceramic elements, and resin. Her practice explores nature’s hidden architectures, from fungal networks to mineral formations and the emotional contrasts embedded within them: softness beside sharpness, growth through collapse. Originally trained in Graphic Design at Marmara University’s Fine Arts Faculty, she later received her MFA from Boston University and worked in corporate design before shifting fully into sculpture.
Her work is shaped by material tension and transformation, where destruction becomes structure and fragility holds strength. Exhibiting under the name Asnax, she builds forms that glisten with both rawness and renewal. Her sculptures have been featured at Contemporary Istanbul (2022, 2023) and Yapı Kredi bomontiada. She also creates nature inspired illustrations as part of a parallel visual practice.
