Niloofar Asadi is an Iranian-American filmmaker and visual storyteller. Her work spans film, photography, visual arts, and theatre; she holds an MFA in Film Directing.

Asadi's work draws inspiration from her lived experiences and explores themes of identity and representations of the self, eliciting provocation and encountering participatory viewership.

In her character-driven stories, she fuses genres, crosses visual mediums, and creates dynamic blends of formalistic and expressive elements—interlacing symbols, allegories, and vibrant motifs to reinterpret traditional forms within modern contexts, revealing how the past continues to shape the present.

Since 2004, she has worked across diverse artistic settings, with her films, photographs, and visual art featured in solo and group exhibitions worldwide. Her work has been recognized by festivals and institutions such as Palm Springs ShortFest, Africa Human Rights Film Festival, Prague Film Festival, LensCulture, Creative Capital Circle, ArtExpo New York—affirming her voice in global contemporary art and storytelling.
