Ekaterina Artemyeva was born in USSR, in Leningrad. She took her first photo at the age of six, under her father's guidance. In the course of time the hobby has become her profession, and classic portrait - her priority genre.
Having graduated from Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, Ekaterina applies the methods of the old masters of painting. She attaches especial significance to style, light and composition.
The works by Ekaterina Artemyeva tend to be provocative and risky. They make you stop, take a narrow look and begin to think. Each work is full of meaning and life. With the skilful use of light, texture and colour Ekaterina creates nontemporal compositions out of ordinary photographs. The thorough elaboration of details in a photo editor, moreover, turns the photos into brilliant works of art.
Ekaterina is an awardee of a large number of prestigious international photographic competitions. In 2016 she was among the judges of the "Metro Photo Challenge" photographic contest.
Ekaterina is also engaged in educational work. She gives a course and holds individual lessons of studio pickup, composition and basics of photography.
