I am a collage and abstract painter born in Madrid, Spain were I
live. I never studied or had art lessons except the ones my father gave me when
I was a child.
As a graffiti writer I like to experiment in my studio with different technics:
oil, enamel, spray, markers, crayons, papers and ink. I like painting over all
kind of surfaces like wood, paper, found objects, and plastic. I am always
experimenting with materials and new ideas.
I strongly think that when a graffiti artist makes his turn to
studio painting he has to express new ideas. He cannot just do the same stuff
he was doing on the street. If you take graffiti out from the wall and put it
on a canvas you are killing the free spirit of graffiti. So that is probably
what took me so much time to make my turn to studio painting. Now I feel I am
improving all the time.
I prepare the materials (wood or canvas) in advanced. I polish them if
necessary and give them a first layer of paint and let it dry. Sometimes I have
a fix idea I want to do. Other days I just start painting background colors and
little by little ideas start to pup out!
The most exciting thing I discovered recently is that I can do a lot
of different art pieces in a short period of time. I am rediscovering myself
bringing out all the experiences I have learned through my life.
