Poetry is the axis of her work and artistic exploration.
She’s been based in Munich, Germany where she studied Fashion Journalism & PR, in Barcelona, Spain where she studied acting as well as in New York City and Miami. Currently she’s back in her country Colombia.
Coming from an artistic background in acting, singing and dancing, Carolina had always a curiosity about fine arts. In 2021, during the pandemic, she moved to Miami where she finally decided to explore the art of painting. Inspired by the beauty of the capital of the Sunshine State, Carolina started the deepest journey of her life: the journey into painting, a journey back to herself. A journey of silence, of pure presence. And this is exactly her intention with the pieces she creates: to bring self awareness into this exact moment, now.
Her exploration and experimental approach to painting is ever growing and not attach to any specific technic. Carolina is on a personal discovery. She paints on skates exploring movement, gravity, freedom, speed, colors, sound, silence, light and darkness.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
In addition to applying to Arte Laguna Prize with the 5 artworks from the series ALL DAY I DREAM, I also am applying with a LIVE PERFORMANCE in which I paint on skates, and also with an Unpublished SONG written and performed by me, also called ALL DAY I DREAM. The song is still in pre-production and will be uploaded to Spotify and YouTube when ready.
