With a intuitive process oriented work, she continuously revisits the notion of "craft" and investigates art as a cultural manifestation. Antonelli's works essentially consist of intricate drawings made up of dots and lines as well as objects elaborated with primary materials such as stones, wood, seeds, shells and leather. With a singular approach to drawing and sculpture, she seeks what is durable through the combination of natural with artificial elements, connecting different universes through a mental and a manual process.
Her extensive research in archaic cultures and materials happens since 2008, participating in group exhibitions such as Salão Novíssimos at Art Gallery Ibeu and Abre Alas 2011 - Galeria A Gentil Carioca in Rio de Janeiro, SIM at Museu de Arte de Blumenau, MUES at Galerie 24B in Paris and Molde at Anita Schwartz gallery. Her first solo show was in 2011 at Galeria Oscar Cruz in São Paulo and in 2013 her first solo show in Rio de Janeiro, entitled “Morada” at Galeria Mercedes Viegas, followed by her most recent solo shows "Telurica" and "O um e o todo" in 2016, and "Las equivocaciones se pagàn in 2019.
In 2013 she was granted with the West Dean Foundation residency scholarship and invited artist for the Art School of North Carolina University, paving fruitful friendships and mentoring with artists such as Iole de Freitas, Robert Ebendorf and Tunga.
“I see the object and act of art as something related to a primal urge of expression. My practice and work are a tool for establishing a relation between the tangible and intangible world, for the materialisation of a desire to connect a diversity of materials, thoughts and emotions. Usually my practice starts with Drawing, followed by object making and installation pieces using elements from Nature. I am interested in the process of art making for creating pieces that have meaning within itself, connecting human mind, art and nature."
