Annamaria Michela Antonazzo (b. 1986, Bari; based in London) is a visual artist whose practice unfolds between printmaking and painting, combining traditional techniques with experimental research. She trained at the Fine Arts Academy of Lecce, earning both a BA and MA in Painting and Contemporary Arts, and later pursued Graphic Design with an experimental thesis on the translation of sound into image.
Her work investigates memory and labour, exploring how social conditions intersect with personal and lived experience. Techniques shift in response to the concepts at stake: sometimes fragile, sometimes bold, always rooted in a deep respect for material and process. Central to her practice is the commitment to sustainability, favouring natural binders, recycled supports, and methods that acknowledge both tradition and environment.
Currently based in London, Antonazzo combines her studio practice with art education. She has exhibited in Italy and the UK, including RAW Labs Residency (2025), Bow Open 2023 curated by Chila Kumari Singh Burman, and the Layers Residency at Art in the Docks (2022). She is also part of the Naked Ashes collective, a collaborative platform addressing memory, trauma, and the body as trace and transformation.
