ANDRZEJ CISOWSKI is a graduate of the Dusseldorf Art Academy. In 1990 he received the title "Meisterschuler" under Professor A.R.Penck.
From 1982 to 1987 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Professor Raimund Ziemski. Shortly before his graduation he escaped from socialist Poland to Germany, where he was admitted to the Dusseldorf Art Academy. He studied painting under Professor Konrad Klaphek and one year later from 1988 to 1990 under Professor A.R.Penck.
In 2005 Andrzej Cisowski received the award Artist of the Year, awarded by the art magazine EXIT - New Art in Poland for long-term creative presence in various domains of artistic activity.
In 2005 and 2007 he got a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, in 2009 he won the 2nd prize at the 39th Biennale for Painting Bielska autumn, BWA Bielsko-Bia?a.
He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including Kunsthalle Dusseldorf, Galeria Kordegarda Warsaw, Zacheta - National Gallery of Art, Warsaw and Saatchi London, and has participated in numerous art fairs such as Kunstmesse Basel, Art Fair Miami, Contemporary Art Fair Tokyo.
