Andreea Belea is a Romanian contemporary visual and relief artist based in Bucharest, Romania. Her work explores the invisible processes of inner transformation, femininity, cultural memory, and the deep connection between human experience and the natural world.
Although a professional path initially led to a successful career in Human Resources, where she worked as an HR Manager, her passion for art never faded. A few years ago, she returned to her artistic practice with renewed dedication, immersing herself in the study of low-relief textured painting and gradually developing her own distinctive visual language.
Working at the intersection of painting and sculpture, Andreea specializes in heavy-texture impasto, combining relief paste, acrylics, and metallic gold leaf to transform emotions into physical, tactile forms. Driven by the belief that creation is not about explaining the world but about understanding it, her practice is a deeply personal journey of self-discovery. Her main tools are light, texture, and shadow, which she uses to create multidimensional experiences. The figures that inhabit her artworks are not merely portraits; they are mirrors of resilience, intuition, and vulnerability, inviting viewers to pause, to feel, and to reconnect with parts of themselves they may have forgotten.
The artist's practice has been recognized both nationally and internationally. Alongside regular seasonal exhibitions at the Museum of Romanian Records, Andreea Belea has been honored with awards from Fusion Art, recognizing the originality and expressive strength of her work.
