I'm Mattia Anderle, a Visual and Product designer graduated in IUAV University of Venice, Italy and I had a 6 months experience in Iceland for my internship, in Plastplan (a design studio based on the precious plastic initiative). In the last period I've been interested in sustainable design and the creation of new materials, in fact my last 2 projects are based on this concept. "Tressa" that is a project about the use of algae waste in the Venice Lagoon, a project that was placed 4th in the "Ro Plastic Price" of Rossana Orlandi 2022 with the honor mention on the stage. And my last project, that is my final project that I presented at my graduation, is about the use of volcanic materials of Iceland to create a collection of vases with all different purposes. For example one of them is made of a biomaterial made out of volcanic ash and waste from the fish industry, that allows the vase to spoil in the ground and fertilize it, this flowerpot is used to reforest the Icelandic desert territory.
