Rosaria Amantea was born in Calabria and has lived elsewhere (Rome, Athens, Milan); she has carried out her professional activity as an architect with particular attention to the themes of the city and the landscape. Between planning and design, the City (the one designed, thought, lived, read and governed) has been the terrain of her experiments. 10 years ago her journey in painting began. It was a natural event, not a thought out or premeditated action. It was a gesture, instinctive, urgent, to experimenting the impact of the colors on the canvas (sometimes violent, sometimes rhythmic, sometimes persuasive); color, through the gesture, has become the interpreter of an interior state that changes expression and meaning depending on the materials and supports. The abstract line becomes a vivid and real representation of emotions that speak through soft or sharp shapes and engaging colors.
