Victor Boluwatife is a visual Artist born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He specializes mainly in pencils and charcoals drawing as well as soft pastels, oils and acrylic paintings. His works explores the black identity, emotions and expression with the context of the black society, culture and pride.
Victor’s passion for art emerged an early age of 6, however studied Medicine and Surgery in the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. As a self taught Artist, he began his artistic journey exploring realism and portraitures. He defines his process as a practice in time, persistence and patience, working approximately 150 to 300 hours on a decently sized piece.
Stepping out of his comfort zone, he embraced new mediums like acrylics and oils, deepening his exploration in the multifaceted nature of black experience and their stories with the aim to provoke thought and engage his audiences intellectually with his works through visual dialogues that establish a relationship with the viewers and set to encourage their participation to the same extent as my involvement in it.
Victor Boluwatife is also the founder of Future Palette Africa, an art initiative that helps to nurture creativity and holistic development in children across Africa. He believes every child has unique potential, and with the right support and encouragement, they can achieve their dreams and become future palettes.
