Ranjit Ahuja has developed a great interest in black and white photography and the lab processes involved in its production. His professional education began in the field of Design and Visual Communication, which he studied in India from 1973- 1977. In 1979 he then received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Department of Experimental Studios in Syracuse, NY, USA. For over 20 years he has worked in black and white labs, and then for a further 15 years in Digital Imaging for the press in the USA. His image making practice is informed by this career history.
His images explores a combination of abstraction and reality and involve the viewer in his study of the relationship between scientific and artistic forms of communication. He seeks inspiration from his locale as he travels, and continues his interest in researching new printing methods and technology which pursue superior presentation of images. Ranjit was born in Ajmer, India and currently resides and works in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
