Aghigh Afkhami (b. 1996, Tehran, Iran — currently based in Boston, MA, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, video, directing, graphic design, and visual identity. She holds an MFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a BFA in Graphic Design from Soore Art University. Her practice explores themes of memory, resilience, and fragmentation through narrative and sequencing, often incorporating sound, text, and moving image. Her MFA thesis project, LOV, explores the tension between presence and absence through fragmented narrative, inviting open-ended interpretation. Afkhami’s 2024 photobook Salakhi, produced in collaboration with Amir Esfandiari, reflects a research-driven approach to storytelling. Following the release of her latest photobook Stress, she continues to develop her practice through bookmaking.
She is currently working at MassArt x SoWa gallery in Boston, Massachusetts.
