The series, “Transit”, focus on impressions of various cities around the world and invites the viewer to reconsider ourrelationships with all kinds of spaces, from urban panoramas to natural landscapes, to absorb a sublime sense ofeverythingness all at once.AD-Reflex creates a unique kind of illusory space, both abstract and fixed in recognisable form, and somehow almosttangible. Repeated shapes and colours hint at an infinitely multiplying mirrored images, reflecting the vastness ofnetworked culture and a never-ending insatiable yearning for images and information.
Their work constantly morphs between abstraction and representation. The more abstract works celebrate the mimeticqualities of 'paint' as a medium (both in its traditional form and through digital painting), together with process-ledabstraction. Through the experimental nature of their processes and the use of the oil medium with various bindingmediums, their work borders on the ‘alchemical’. In these works, mythological landscapes, drips and digital elementsappear, then melt away in an endless mimicry, where no clear distinction can be drawn between the painterly and thedigital.
