Salwa Abuljadayel is a Saudi artist and equestrian. She graduated with a BFA in Theatre from Emerson College in Boston. After graduation, she worked in events production with Live Nation Entertainment. As an artist, she specializes in painting the masks of life in watercolor, focusing on a perched black and white palette. Abuljadayel is also a photographer and videographer who has worked as a journalist with Okaz Newspaper and Saudi Gazette covering the annual Hajj Season in Makkah 2021/23.
In the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, she was a creative advisor on a short animated film Produced and Directed by her Mother, Suraya Al Shehry, and sister Nabila Abuljadayel, titled “Prostrate and Draw Near” The short film was screened on Animation Day, where it won the Animation that Matters award.
In 2023, the artist graduated with an MA in History of Art and Archeology from SOAS, University of London. During her time in the UK, she began her journey as a Fencer in Épée. Abuljadayel is currently working with the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia since the inception of The Saudi Cup. She is a second-generation horse owner, carrying the legacy of her late Father, Saeed Abuljadayel.
