Baiba Ābelīte, born in 1980, is a Latvian visual artist whose research focuses on the transformations of the urban environment and the impact of technology on the human condition. After completing a degree in Interior Design at the Riga College of Architecture and Design in 2011, she pursued further studies at the Art Academy of Latvia, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2019 and a Master of Arts in Painting in 2021. Her multidisciplinary artistic practice integrates painting, installations, and performance, with a strong commitment to social and cultural dialogue. Baiba Ābelīte is also known for her experimental use of industrial materials and metal surfaces, which become integral elements of her visual language. She has participated in numerous international programs and exhibitions, establishing herself as one of the most compelling voices in the contemporary Latvian and European art scenes.
