I was born in Milan in 1967, here l grew up and l graduated in fashion at the IED.The
need to switch from Pantone to oil colors was somewhat spontaneous and
partly due to visits to exhibitions and museums; l went from drawing to
self-taught painting, starting with exotic women like Gauguin, then
Milan, flowers, and the sea. It was figurative, the Impressinists were a
reference, then Van Gogh, then Picasso.I became
more and more confident with colors and gestures, l discovered the use
of palette-knife and new pictorial inspirations, the Informal and
American Abstract Expressionism, with Cy Twombly and Joan Mitchell, new
experiments characterised by a sense of freedom.
