Ömer Sedat Yenidoğan was born in Germany in 1987 and moved to Turkey where he continued his education. After studying physics at Yıldız Technical University, he transferred to Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography due to his interest in art and graduated in 2017. Yenidoğan's works question the concept of power and the relationship between the individual and his environment. Using materials that represent power, he visualizes layers with elements that separate from compositions in a baroque language and presents them to the viewer with a simple expression. His artistic creation focuses on the human body, religion, mythology, social norms and various roles. Without assigning a gender, the body's biological formation is left open, reflecting the individual's process of self-discovery and the desire to share this discovery with others. Religious and mythological themes play an important role in his works due to his raising in a conservative family background.
Yenidoğan visualizes themes of power, hierarchy and social collapse with monochrome aesthetics and baroque elements, offering viewers the opportunity to reflect on their social roles and the impact of power on our identities. He attempts to anonymize bodies by losing them in time and space, and metamorphoses bodies by hiding faces. This approach aims to create a series that questions social norms and encourages self-recognition. These works are intended to reflect and reflect on the human condition, social structures and the pervasive influence of power, encouraging viewers to rethink identity, power and social norms through photography and the visual arts.
