IT_ Questo camino racconta la storia di Tongariro, il sacro vulcano e antenato del popolo della zona di Taupo, nell’Isola del Nord della Nuova Zelanda. La leggenda narra che Tongariro combatté tutti gli altri vulcani per conquistare l’amore di Pihanga. Egli la osserva, vedendo tutto il suo amore riflesso nel lago. Qui Tongariro appare assonnato, sognando dentro una grande nuvola bianca. È adornato con tutti gli elementi della natura, con gocce di acqua cristallina che scendono dalle spalle e dalle mani. EN_ This chimney tells the story of Tongariro, the sacred volcano and ancestor of the people of the Taupo area, on New Zealand’s North Island. Legend has it that Tongariro fought all the other volcanoes to win the love of Pihanga. He gazes at her, seeing all his love reflected in the lake. Here, Tongariro appears sleepy, dreaming within a large white cloud. He is adorned with all elements of nature, with crystal water drops cascading from his shoulders and hands. His emerald lakes rest on his nose, while he holds his blue lake on his chest, conveying a message of freedom, creativity, and love. On the opposite side, the front of the chimney depicts Ruaumoko, the god of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
