The transparency of materials like mesh wire and window screens reflects the idea of digital devices as semi-corporeal entities. Layering these materials creates a dreamlike translucent space, where the projected images and videos become ethereal remnants of our digital selves. The projection light reveals the meticulous details of the inner parts within the installation while creating a sparkly sensation on the surface. All the digital devices and computer components in my work are either handmade or cast to resemble their actual manufacturing process. This interplay between the visible and hidden connects to the ambiguity of where our digital essence resides. The ghostly impressions left by the components in the printmaking process, a process inherently tied to mass production, further emphasize the ephemeral nature of our digital existence.
Single-channel video projection (a video of screen noise), 1 minute 59 seconds, on loop. A set of five mining rig(consisting of graphics cards, a motherboard, and a power box) replicas made of black stainless steel window screen and stainless steel mesh wire. Only the middle rack and two fans on it are real ones from online. The others are all cast and handmade. The shadows cast by the projected video reveal intricate details on the wall.
