"Bio-Sonoarcheology is the art of proving that nothing is ever truly silent."
This project, a sub-discipline of the Escencionalism research framework, shifts focus from the biological activity of living plants to the "structural memory" of fossilized nature. The installation features a series of transparent, wearable interfaces containing dehydrated, gold-gilded ferns. The acrylic mask acts like amber, preserving the structure after the life has faded.
Unlike living plants that generate their own bio-electric fluctuations, these fossilized specimens rely on a symbiotic connection to function. The human wearer acts as a "biological battery," providing the conductive voltage necessary to bridge the gap between the inert organic matter and the sensors.
Through a process of "Signal Excavation," the device reads the resistance of the dehydrated structure against the wearer’s skin, translating the entropy of the decaying cells into a real-time soundscape of "sonic dust," voltage crackle, and granular sub-bass frequencies. Visually, the transparent mask reveals the wearer while superimposing the "golden fossil" over their identity, symbolizing a Hegelian synthesis of Human (Life) and Nature (Time). It is an attempt to hear the echo of existence that remains after gravity has claimed the body.
