Extinction Series #1 is a densely layered composition created from fragments of printed photographs, cut, rearranged, and reassembled into a chaotic visual tapestry. The surface is further enhanced with pigment ink, deepening its textures and tonal contrasts.
This work explores themes of collapse, decay, and transformation. At first glance, it may appear abstract—but within the complexity, glimpses of skeletal forms, mechanical debris, and organic shapes emerge. These fragmented pieces suggest a world in disarray—perhaps one after ecological ruin, conflict, or societal breakdown.
Rather than offering a clear narrative, the piece invites the viewer to get lost in its layers. It mirrors the overwhelming nature of extinction—not just of species, but of memory, structure, and identity. Each element, once whole, is now part of a larger visual ruin.
Through destruction, the piece also points to reconstruction. What remains? What rises from the rubble? This tension between loss and rebirth is central to the work’s emotional and visual impact.
