Construction Sites are Art: Series 5
Fusion of Japanese Kakejiku and Canvas / Hammer Paint
This work was created using a hammer (hammer paint). A unique technique is created in which the ink splashes and colors the canvas by striking the surface. The shapes depicted in this work have no specific meaning, and the essence of this work lies in the act of hammering itself. This act incorporates the movement of the architectural construction process into painting.
Furthermore, with environmental awareness in mind, the Japanese "Kakejiku/CANVAS-K" has been reimagined using canvas cloth. Throughout the history of art, stretched canvas has been utilized by artists without altering its form. However, as of 2025, environmental issues have become unavoidable for everyone. This shift calls for a reconsideration of the canvas's design. By allowing it to be rolled up into a compact form, transportation becomes simpler and more efficient.
