“Suspended Time - Apocalypse 19 - 11h:17m:47s
With “Suspended Time,” I continue my exploration of time as an artistic medium.
The series is a further development of “The Days of Painting or the Measurement of Time.” While in that case I explored the duration of an artistic process, in “Suspended Time” I literally freeze time and make it visible.
Time is an essential but often overlooked factor in art. It permeates every form of creative endeavor, whether painting, sculpture, or music. But while the finished work remains, the time that led to its creation disappears into obscurity.
In this series, I capture time itself, suspended on threads, fixed in a moment. Each work is labeled with an hour, minute, and second, reflecting the exact duration of its creation. In this way, I invite the viewer not only to see the final product, but also to become aware of the time that created it, a time that would otherwise be lost.
The work presented, Suspended Time - Apocalypse 19 - 11h:17m:47s, represents the 19th phase for the painting “Apocalypse Now(?)”.
