Merrill Hewitt, also known as Dame Eiger, is an American multidisciplinary artist based in Paris since 2021. She holds a BFA in Art, Media, and Technology from Parsons Paris, graduating in May 2025. Her practice centers on feminist and taboo themes, often employing unconventional materials such as snakeshed, leather, and organic matter to explore mythology, memory, and identity.
Hewitt’s work has been exhibited internationally in venues including Gallery 45 (Paris), Gallery D (Paris), Silencio (Paris), Glen Echo (Washington, D.C.), and The Holy Art Gallery (New York). Her thesis project, featuring pieces like the Snakeshed Wedding Veil and Leatherwork Cloak, received critical acclaim for its innovative materiality and exploration of feminine mythologies.
