...in the desert, after you see this beautiful flower, would you still call this place a 'desert'? ......and my eyes stopped at this intriguing object. Once again, the nature did everything and was asking to me, 'How about you? What do you see in me?'......now, this desert would never be the same to me.
I tried to capture this special communal feeling that I felt in the desert with a cactus flower in the Arizona desert.
The main object is unidentified and I think it's dried cactus leaf. I kept this and brought it back to Boston after one week of unexpected hospital stay in Arizona. I refined the wood slightly and made a flower with toilet paper with watercolor. The stem of the flower is dried Solomon's tea which I saved after the season. For the back drop, I painted the color on the cardboard and layered it with pastel.
