But you know
Series
A self-portrait of uncertainty.
This series began with a question: how do I see myself?
While asking the age-old question—“Who am I?”—I simultaneously reveal my ambivalence about confronting the answer.
We are often defined through others’ perspectives, adjusting ourselves to fit those gazes.
That dissonance is a key emotional root of my work.
“You say you know me, but I still don’t know myself.”
This paradox captures the uncertainty of my being, and my persistent pursuit to understand it.
In this series, I depict emotional layers, inner chaos, and fragmented identity
through free brushstrokes and raw texture.
Each figure assumes a different posture, but all embody
contradictory emotions, unsteady convictions, and a sense of imbalance.
I know
The posture of knowing often hides the fragility of conviction.
The moment we say “I know,” we confront the fear that we may not.
This figure seems steady, but its gaze and fingers betray doubt and tension.
