Jan Kirstein Rigor is a visual artist based in
Louisville, Kentucky, USA, working primarily
in mixed-media collage. Her multidisciplinary
practice spans painting, photography,
drawing, digital art, and other forms of visual
expression. With a career that has spanned
decades, Jan has established herself as a
prolific artist with a strong international
presence. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in
Painting from the University of Massachusetts,
Amherst (1981), and has been painting
professionally ever since. Alongside her
studio practice, she has taught art at various
universities and high schools, nurturing
creative exploration and artistic growth
in others. Jan’s work has been exhibited
extensively across the globe, including in
Japan, South Korea, Italy, Switzerland, Spain,
Peru, Austria, and throughout the United
States. Notably, she was featured in the first
International Art Exhibit on the Moon, which
was reviewed by The New York Times and has
been invited to participate in the prestigious
2025 Asian Biennale in Bangladesh.
