My work as an
artist is always focused on two branches for its execution; the analog and the
digital, the series the Temptations is a work in which I mix the two techniques
since many of the elements that intervene in them are painted or made on paper,
fabrics, wood, glass, which I later digitize, sometimes I also paint directly
on the scanner glass, there I manipulate the color in a fairly liquid form to
be able to capture it in its movement and mixing. Then to continue with the
artistic work, this is done entirely on the computer with programs for drawing,
painting, illustration and photographic retouching, I manipulate the elements
and images to achieve textures, reliefs, colors, spots, tonal values, lighting,
etc.
The
Tentaciones series was born as a concern to express or communicate the
provocations, desires, longings, dreams that the human being wants to achieve,
sometimes these that can be harmful or induce sin (according to religion), the
commercial world induces or does it coerce people to perform an act, create the
needs of possessing that, and how does it do it? One way is by exploiting the
image of women; her being, her beauty, her thought and her intimacy.
This
is why her naked body is present in most of my graphic works, I want to express
her submission to desires and where the exploitation of her femininity plays a
fundamental role. I do not pretend that the work is to incite to the bad but to
state what can be positive in the day to day of the human being, we all have
dreams and desires that we hope to fulfill. Visible temptations, temptations to
feel, to read, for music, for the movies, for playing, for laughing, for
living, etc.
