Themed around the concept of Zen, the piece reveals glimpses of Zen world by minimal ”particle” landscape constructed from highly precise 3D scanned data and sound scape re-constructed from recorded sounds of inside and outside the Zen temple.
The three-dimensional landscape of Ryosokuin created with the photogrammetry technology is composed of the most minimalistic elements of “dots” only. Point Cloud data of ten million dots are depicted in real-time. The accumulation of dots seems large up close while seeming compact from afar: it has the opposite effect on the structure of the human eye. Also, the dots change shape freely and become a medium of reality and virtual worlds, coming and going between the realistic existence and the virtual representation.
The soundscape reconstructed from recorded sounds of inside and outside the Rosokuin.
