For years, I have conducted experiments that investigate possibilities of observation through ultrasound devices, giving up the conventional cameras to create a new photographic technique, the Sonophotography. A hybrid of art and science, the method enables the creation of images with colors and rhythms, opening a range for perspectives that go beyond the analysis of the human structures themselves.
Through the subversion of the clinical apparatus, and using my own body, attention is drawn to a new perception of life.
Sonophotography innovates in the instrument of producing artworks, now with the ultrasound device, besides innovating in the way this equipment is manipulated. This work suggests a reflection on the usefulness or otherwise of things, of material, about the subversion of patterns, of mundane objects. Transforming what was instituted is a healthy mode of evolution. Sonophotography is a way to break with certain limits of the medicine, that demands reproducible standards so that it has validity like science. On the other hand, art escapes standards to be recognized as such. It is a way of producing antagonisms from the same instrument. "
The proposed work also seeks to reflect on the creation of new frontiers of knowledge and innovation. The relevant advance of human knowledge has placed it at its borders, inviting everyone to transpose them and, at the same time, to merge, to produce intersections of the diverse knowledges. This leads to the emergence of a myriad of new knowledge.
