Sometimes familiar, often mysterious, the creative universe of artist Robin Haefeli invites travel and exploration. Passing through Africa, Europe, Asia and South America, he makes a point of offering a piece of history through each of his works.
The Inner Tribe series by the Geneva-based artist presents a set of digital sculptures printed on drawing paper.
"Each step is important in order to transmit an emotion. In the image of his representations both ancestral and timeless, Robin Haefeli combines the know-how. Indeed, each sculpture is digitally modeled by hand. Like a traditional sculptor using these tools, he models, digs and shapes in a material, here intangible. The use of lighting also participates in the confusion of mediums, techniques and realities. Imitating by means of new technologies both a photographic rendering and traditional sculpture, the artist plays with imperfections and textures to highlight the infinite creative potential offered by the alliance of traditional techniques and new tools.
