"No-Self" is the 2nd of TEN characters (portraits – digital paitings) that explores a fusion of genetics and robotics and tells an allegorical story about civilization. In 'No-Self' the diptych artwork portrays a transhuman figure who firmly embraces the belief that the self is devoid of existence. It challenges the notion of a persistent self, highlighting the ever-changing nature of existence where nothing remains the same at all times. The character's search for a self that aligns with conventional understanding becomes a quest for the unattainable.
In photography, the duality of negative and positive plays a crucial role. This duality is mirrored in the philosophical exploration within the artwork. The character's conviction that the self does not exist represents the negative aspect, questioning and dismantling conventional notions of identity. This negation becomes the catalyst for the positive aspect, opening up new possibilities for understanding and self-realization.
